Blizz is having a second Blizzcon video contest this year, and this one isn't accepting webcam vlogs so more machinima folks are actually entering. I know Mushanga, Zimtower, and WowCrendor have horses in the race, so there will at least be honest competition.
While the Ensidia project churns along, here's a bit of a sneak peek at what you can expect from Never Stay Tuned IV, Olibith's most ambitious collab yet! I worked heavily on two of the parts myself, and everything I've seen just makes me more excited to see the rest...
Unable to get onto the test realm for any Flame Leviathan tests, whatever could I do for my movie- I want it done before Ulduar is public, after all... Quite a dilemma.
I still need to add more to the environment, but here's what I have so far with everything mocked up in 3d. Since there are no exporters that work with the new map format, I had to recreate the ground pretty much from scratch, and I still need to add the snowdrifts to it and work on the rubble texturing.
Well, after various trials, I managed to hack and cobble together my entry for Machinima.com's christmas contest:
I had to cut the movie for time pretty severely(around a minute) after the music and sound was already done, so you'll probably notice some discontinuities- sorry bout that. I had to make the movie in sections because of constant crashes(the source footage for this movie was ginormous), and when I assembled it the pieces seem to have been much longer together than I'd expected. Think I dropped a zero in my math somewhere. In any event, expect an uncut version eventually.
Special thanks to every who helped, especially my voice actors, and to Moo for forcibly convincing me to enter- I'm very glad I did!
And, in the nick of time, here's my second entry to the Dell Machinima Contest: "Max"
Huge thanks to Drewbie on the voice acting, and another big thanks to Michael Martin, who provided the first draft of the voice and helped me with the script.
This movie is one that I came up with last night while I was still not sure that I'd finish Ultimate in time for the contest... so finding myself with about 20 hours to kill, what did I do?
My page layout shows up on Warcraftmovies today, for a limited promotional period: I made the sidebars and the animated cornerbox. I am especially happy with the little thing with her eyes. Also, there's a bit of a poorly hidden easter egg somewhere on the page... Check it out while it's still up, and we now have a high quality download link for our movie there, too!
