Roll out!

While the Ensidia project churns along, here's a bit of a sneak peek at what you can expect from Never Stay Tuned IV, Olibith's most ambitious collab yet! I worked heavily on two of the parts myself, and everything I've seen just makes me more excited to see the rest...

Flame Pengu... er, Leviathan!

Unable to get onto the test realm for any Flame Leviathan tests, whatever could I do for my movie- I want it done before Ulduar is public, after all... Quite a dilemma.

I still need to add more to the environment, but here's what I have so far with everything mocked up in 3d. Since there are no exporters that work with the new map format, I had to recreate the ground pretty much from scratch, and I still need to add the snowdrifts to it and work on the rubble texturing.

Still alive... and without a point!

Baron Soosdon's latest movie is out, and it features a bit of intro animation by me!

Machinima Film Fest 2008

Quick little update from the hotel- the fest was fun, albeit steeped in pretension.
Not many wow folks there, though I met a few, and also a few folks in other platforms that I liked, so that was neat.

I'll probably post more when I get home, so here's a couple pictures.

Machinima.com interview

So today the interview I forgot to mention went up on Machinima.com's blog.

I'm not very good at being interviewed, but Moo did a good job of not letting me make a jackass of myself, so huge thanks to her! It was a lot of fun.

Alienware, part I

My WeGame contest prize has arrived! And now, since Baron is demanding that I cater to his voyeuristic urges instead of playing with my new toy, pictures:

Big box, or tiny couch? Or is it a weather balloon...?

They aren't joking about the "heavy" thing, either,
but the bulk was more problematic.

Ok, I have my hat now. What's all that other
junk that came with it, though?

It looks better than the cheesy alien props from the
latest attempt at an Indiana Jones movie...

More later. I need to hook it all up now...

Max

And, in the nick of time, here's my second entry to the Dell Machinima Contest: "Max"

Huge thanks to Drewbie on the voice acting, and another big thanks to Michael Martin, who provided the first draft of the voice and helped me with the script.

This movie is one that I came up with last night while I was still not sure that I'd finish Ultimate in time for the contest... so finding myself with about 20 hours to kill, what did I do?

That's right, I made a second movie.

And it felt great.

Even if it was a pain.

First review

It's very exciting to have your movie reviewed by someone who makes great movies themself- and Olibith sure makes damn fine movies!

As usual, the crazy French gnome is a bit overblown in his praise, but I certainly appreciate it, and of course his giving permission for this madness...

Trivia: Olibith's voice was actually recorded over half a year ago for a scene in my Christmas machinima, 'A Warsong Carol'. It was a scene set in Warsong Gulch, too- but it was him saying "Sacre Bleu, they've got Tim!" when Tiny Tim was captured- and we all know what happened to him...

Fire Festival Fun

WoW has decided not to work for me tonight (sorry Vesty and Uneek!) but before it died totally I was able to capture and create my shortest machinima yet! It is an interpretation of the Walt Disney classic, The Little Mermaid!

Keep an eye out...

Needless to say, I'm excited about WWI- two of the entrants collaborated with me, and it was certainly an interesting experience. I also, indirectly, got to work with Caruu(who made my clip a lot better with his sound design), which was nice.

In addition to my more typical model editing and animation, this time I also did alogo for one of Soosdon's entries- Baron liked it, and I hope the FFVI fans in the judging will agree... ^_^

With the new contest coming and my crazy meatside situation, it looks like Succession might be delayed, but hopefully not for too long.

I blame Soosdon

I blame Baron Soosdon. He twisted my arm, he did. And Drewbie held me down as he did it.
